Default Tensile strength of prop shaft bolts

Do I need to use anything special in terms of the tensile strength for my prop shaft bolts? If so what spec?

The prop shaft company were great but I was amazed they didn't "up sell" the bolts to go with it???

In fact the cossie world and car world do not do a lot to sell optimal add ons....and this is where the profit is, you could charge £400 for the main item and then bolts for £30 at high profit margin.

Mt and mk do sell bolts but still not as a suggested extra, they are just available if you ask.

You can't go wrong with some 12.9's

A lot of OEM prop bolts will be a fine thread, although not really sure why.

But as Rich says, a good quality 12.9 bolt, nyloc nuts etc Ideally if you can get a smooth shank through the holes too, but some do, some dont
