Seen on a facebook page about a guy complaining his fiesta made a popping sound (but not like a full on backfire) coming from the engine bay during acceleration, tried (unsuccessfully) helping out but so far I have failed (sometimes I think my knowledge on cars is proper shite!) any ideas folks??

What fiesta is it? Petrol or diesel? Could be combusting back through the inlet so maybe damaged valves or a timing issue?

Years ago I had to sort out a mk1 Mondeo V6 that was backfiring out of the inlet on accel.

Turns out the cat was blocked.

 

He never bothered replying. So I'll leave it there, thanks for the help though people!
