Default Insurance not always cheapest on comparison sites....

Ive got the impression now these comparison sites are really only much use for people who have had lots of driving convictions, accidents etc

All my points have now come off my licence and for the last 12 months id been paying £700 a year on a Audi TDi with 9 points and one non fault accident, over the course of the year one lot of points came off and another few just come off the other day (4 years)

Ive just bought a ST170

My insurance is up for renewal come end of this month and id used the usual go compare, confused etc, and with no points, and not having to declare the accident (5 years up) and with 6 years no claims I was getting prices of around £500 - £550 full comp on a ST170, with breakdown, windscreen cover, key cover, legal cover etc full works.

I then went on directline as they dont appear on comparison sites and to my suprise I got the same deal as above but for only £420 a year..

Is there any other insurance companies that dont come up on comparison sites?

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try if you like. If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back. A number of our exclusive schemes aren't available on-line.
Regards,
Dan.

Thing that really annoys me is I get my renewal each year with a hike to my premium. Every year I call and say "you're taking the piss". I go away get lower quotes which they then match. Why not just offer a better deal???

Try the companies own website.
The compare sites must get commission out of it.

I had a quote from a Broker with Aviva it was cheaper than Aviva via a compare site, and then cheaper than Direct off their own website.
However I went with Quote me Happy and got the cheapest deal by around £200 less than the original.

Quote me Happy is Aviva.

I tried Compare the Market for the XR2 and the cheapest quote I got was about £1400. Then tried Aviva direct, £627, lol.

Get the quotes then ring them directly and play them off each other.

My insurance is due for renewal in 3 weeks and the i encounter the same problem each year, price goes up then they beat the lowest quote, this year they beat the lowest quote and said if you find it lower still we will beat it again, I then rang a few other companies and it seems to have almost halved last years premium. Just annoying when they say hears your price but we can go lower...
