Done anything to the wiring when this started to happen?

When you re-connect the battery with key out do the ignition lights come on?

Has your car got a turbo timer fitted. Some alarms have them like my Clifford alarm does.

I don't know the specifics with Sierra, but there may well be an ignition relay that is stuck in.

Connect the battery and start pulling relays out until the lights go off. Key out of course.

There are some under the glovebox. And more somewhere else lol

whats the inner ignition switch, sounds like the circuit in the ignition switch, , nothing to do with the ignition barell
remove lower cowling and when car is running ,
disconnect the plug with the thick wires,
this will shut down your car .. unless its a relay !

This is a problem with the switch, it seems that the switch is not actually turning off when you turn the key!

When you stall the car, do the ignition lights etc remain on ? Or do they go out ?

Well strictly speaking he said all the lights...Not specifically ignition or dash related lights.

But yes sounds like ignition barrel/switch fucked.
