Hello all.... I have a 55 plate mondeo tdci, for about the first 10 minutes of starting/driving the steering wheel is very tight in the centre position and clicks/knocks when turned left or right...After about 10 minutes it steers normally however pulls to the left slightly...had the tracking checked and it's fine..

Any help would be much appreciated

Mine is doing the exact same on my st220 and I'm pretty sure it's steering rack. Had rack ends done n still same. My mate at the garage said it my be column.
It's been like it for months so gonna let it do whatever then sort it when it's broke. With the AA lol

 

Hello pal, apparently theirs a good chance it's the universal joint...read many many forums which all say the same but gonna get mine loomed at next week mate.

 

it'll either be a simple fix and the bolt at the bottom of the steering column or it'll be the fluid or the rack

 

I had exactly the same problem on my frs it was a knackerd strut
