That's not much!? Surely it should be more than that. You'll bottom out on speed bumps and everything

The engine is basically a black top so I don't see that the gearbox should sit that low?! Is the engine at a normal height? Any pics mate?

It looks to me like the rear mount wants to be raised about an inch? Also anyone have a pic of where the top mount is supossed to be mounted, the rear bracket of that mount looks like it maybe a tiny bit to low also.

the problem is the focus rs box is meant to be bolted to a blacktop engine and they sit tilted forward . that would raise the rear of the gearbox, all the ones I have fitted have been tilted.

Right, so is it worth me trying to raise it a little still or is there nothing that can really be done ?

Can this be done with the silvertop? Would it affect it in anyway? Being so similar I would have thought it would be ok

Its going into get exhaust made on thursday i'm gonna get the bloke to take a look. He makes exhausts, roll cages, space frames etc so pretty sure he could move the mounts a little.

The only real difference is the sump on the blacktop is angled if I remember right.

So the slight tilt wouldn't affect the flow of oil etc. could he just swap sump?

Just looked at mine, got a bit more room then yours but the rs2000 is difference to the frs.

I would say its level with the blacktop sump.

Mines the 2 piece sump. Didn't they do a one piece for a while on the blacktop?

Yes, the silvertop pick up pipe won't fit in the blacktop sump

Blacktop sump and pick up

See if there is some tilt to gain like Gary says

If you engine is flat now, by raising the gearbox one inch, it won't be when your done?

P.s I've seen s2's with around 4.5" or even less between the ground and the gearbox cradle
Remember if its a speed bump across the road the box will raise as the wheels roll over the speed bump

Only problem you will have is getting over the small ones in the middle of the road, with low rst's always have to slow down and put one wheel over them

It's not lower than the front splitter is it?, as getting on a trailor may need some blocks ect if it is?

No mate it's not lower than the splitter. I've had it on a trailer already and was fine. The sump seems slightly tilted but the wrong way so by raising the gearbox mount im pretty sure this will solve the problem.

But if your engine is flat now, by raising the gearbox it won't be with the box raised?

Something to think about, also a 3" system will be that low too so speed bumps are never going to work for that car.

Sorry if I'm being a pain but you might do all that work and it's no better than it is now and cause other issues?

If your going to raise the box you would " benifit " from raising the running gear and keeping it square in the bay

Really I'm just saying I've seen stuff lower than yours and if it goes on a trailor it's not as bad as you think, I have too piss about to get most of mine on trailors and I don't have issues?
