How to time up phase sensor when fitted to camshaft
Hi,I am in the middle of relocating my cossie phase sensor to the end of the camshaft wrc style,i have a machined oil pump drive from mk and am getting Martin at reyland to machine the cover and shaft.
My question is how to go about setting the trigger up?i have measured the original phase sensor position and it looks like the first trigger is 45° after tdc and the second 135° after bdc??
If this correct how do you go about setting it up,is it simply a case of trial and error removing the cam cover to reposition the trigger until its in the correct position or is there a more presise way of doing it?
Many thanks
I did also consider the small turbo hall sensor but I'm not sure this can be used with a p8?

Best way to time it up is to put your old dizzy back in and time it up the same as that, you'll notice WRC Cam triger that goes in the back of the cam is a larger version of what's inside your dizzy.
So just note which way the dizzy rotates and whether it is the first or second lobe that is lined up at the correct time, then note rotation of cam and do the same.
Does that make sense?
