Default YBB oil choice .

........For the road whats everyones choice these days? My engine has done 500 miles of varied driving and its time to change the oil. I have been recommended by Opie oils that i should be looking at 5w40 grade synthetic . I fancy going for Fuchs Pro s high performance oil . Is anyone using 5w40 grade and if so how do you rate it .

Cheers
Mike

Nothing touches my engine other than 10W 50 Fuchs Titan (or Silkolene as it was called). Expensive, but you pay for what you get

10W 50 Fuchs Titan race Pro S, did use mobil 1 15w-50 but prefer the silkolene as it confuses the hell out of mechanics when i ask them to do an oil change,
they stop midway pouring it in and say........
WTF??? is this power steering fluid

lovely red colour

10w-50 is the thinnest i would or anyone else for that matter would go.

if its a rebuild then 10w-50..

if its done quite a few miles 15w-50

Is Castrol RS still available? Used to use it years ago, seemed as good as any, but used up all my stock now!

I've gone for 5w40 in the end . Hopefully it may give better cold cranking and i dont thrash the car to bits so 40 oil maybe adequate for it .Thats my thinking anyway i can always go to the 10w50 i guess keeping it silkolene though as heard good things.
