How true. I took my car to a tuner after some research and spent a fair bit of money and my mates took the piss no end cos I'd spent 2k on a setup and some mechanics whereas they'd paid 120 quid for 2 hours on a dyno. 3 years later mines still pulling strong after a much cheaper checkup at the same place and one friend doesn't even have a ford anymore and the other has had about 5 turbo engines in that time. Enough said

allthough im not a tuner i could still do with showing some of my customers this vid especially the bit at the end about listening to the internet over an experienced tech, i see so much false shite written on forums about cars it often beggars belief!

 

good vid and true lol you get what you pay for! mate on mine built his engine with a friend 3 times lol and had bodge job tunning with this chip that chip these bits it went wrong every time! so he had it done right now its a solid very fast car!

If you think tunings bad try the paintshop game,everyone was a fucking expert in that!!!
One boy even turned up one day telling me that he knew EXACTLY how long things took to rub down,prepare,prime paint etc and we were taking the piss.
Not that this cunt had ever sprayed a car in his life!!!!
So glad I'm out of it but one fact remains that if your good at what you do,honest and fair then you'll do well with it all,its just there's very few that do.

 

Indeed!! I just wish when i was getting my supercharged Saxo VTS "built", that i had of took it to GMC Motorsport. Was quoted £2500 and 2 weeks to have it stripped and rebuilt. I ended up choosing a "mate" who royally fucked me over. I give up chasing money he owed me for bits that where "bought" for the Saxo...and i broke the rest!!

I now just leave my car with AI Autosport. The slightest wee bit harder to pay, but the work gets done before you expect it to be done!!! Which is a win in my book!

A quote a friend once told me, really does fit in with what Vinny says in that video-----

The trouble is, for every good tuner that actually knows what they are doing, there are another ten that have all the flash gear & talk, but know next to fuck all... It's still a minefield picking a reputable tuner IMHO.
