hi iam new to the site, i have just been to view an xr3i cab with escort rs turbo convertion the car starts straight up ticks over fine, then after 10min cuts out. then i tryed to start the car back up nothing!! battry totally dead put the boost pack on and it starts straight back up. after 10min same again, now the alternator has just been recond so not that, any body else no what it could be, thanks.

 

Is the battery taking and holding charge?

 

hi there i dont no as yet, iam going back to see the lad tonight and iam going to try putting a multi meter on see if its charging, but if its not the alternator as he said its just been recond and if its not the battry, any ideas what else it could be thanks,

 

Is the battery light going out when started ? or is it staying on or is it not coming on at all ?

 

hi when i went to fire the car back up and there was nothing am sure the oil light was the only light on the dash

 

There is your problem the battery light needs to light up and go out to be charging there is a little blue wire on the alternator trace that back along the loom and make sure its connected to the alternator

 

right i will check that out when i go back over later on thanks for the replys i will keep you posted...
