Default Modifry Redline Shift Bleeper

Anyone used a Modifry Redline Shift Bleeper. It arrived from the States last Friday. Its an audible addition to my Stack Shift lights which according to Mark i totally ignore.
I have to calm down & not exceed 8500rpm is it easier for an ageing brain to process an audible alert. Mark dont like limiters so its up to me to get to grips with the way my engine revs.

Maybe an automatic might be better ? lol

Or a sequential with upshifts controlled by the ecu if driver forgets ?

I cant even find that thing on google ?

Couldnt a simple beeper be wired to an ecu output to come on in conjunction with shift light ?
TBH though, under pressure a well placed LED/light will be more noticeable than an audible sound.

Surely Mark could map a mechanical arm that gives you a slap at 8550,

Or just hook up an ignition coil to an ecu output with an HT lead directed to a body part.

After a few shocks, you'll soon remember when to change gear !

He certainly gave me a Verbal slap . He checked 17minutes of datalog after a rather fast run around the Newbury bypass. My PB was 8960rpm but over 8900 seven times .

Heres the bit.

Is there any way of getting the boost controller to open at 8500 to drop all the boost away.
Only open thinking. I assume it all happens to fast for this to be affective.
Auto gauge ( the shit rip off of automated used to do a audible shift light. )
Maybe worth a look.

why dont you like the rev limiter on the engine mark? is it hard on the engine? why do you keep reving so high rod? honest questions

I assume the sudden loss of fuel or spark puts massive stress on a already high stress engine.

Seen plenty of engines chuck a rod when hitting the limiter.

Because i drive it hard Lee. On all other engines ive had its easy to tell when to change cos the Power starts to die. This Bl**dy thing has a billion horsepower everywhere & its so easy to over rev it. Dont mean to be using those revs its just through the rev range so quickly in 2nd & 3rd. On my gearing 8.9k is 98mph in 2nd & 142mph in 3rd so lots of fun to be had on the street . Its also 190mph in 4th & oh so easy to reach .

Correct, Also I didnt know Rod was abusing the engine so much so will make some changes to the mapping to drop the power over 8.5k.

Replied, I will also start to fine Rod Ł100 for every 50rpm past 8.5k

I can imagine the ignition map now:

load 390kpa, 8500 RPM = 15 degrees*
load 390kpa, 8750 RPM = 1 degree

(*Wild stab at the ignition timing on this engine)

And watch the EGT go through the roof, It will have a bit more createtivety than that.

I wasn't implying that ignition would be the / only change Mark, just an off the cuff comment on my part that i didn't think through

As peak EGT's occur around stoich and going richer OR leaner at this point will reduce EGT's?

complete fuel cut means no heat generated, only cooler air drawn through the cylinders.
a complete ignition cut means over fuelling, pops and bangs at turbo, but more cooling of cylinders and valves. car will run lumpy straight after the cut due to excess fuel floating about, but recovers quickly.

Without meaning to sound funny a lot of people sit on there high horse and judge about things like that but also do the same! Why would you mod/tune a road car if your not going to on the odd occation use it! Now I'm not saying its right or that I myself always drive like that but it dose happen

I know it happens,i'm no angel myself but i certainly wouldn't dream about travelling at that speed on a public road.I'm not bothered about myself but i'd hate to take someone else's life.

It's one thing doing such speeds etc. But admitting it on a public forum is where the stupidity would lie.

It's the sort of thing that could come back to bite one day. Never admit anything like that on a public forum, as it is there for all to see, for a very long time.

Yep, was my point Stevie. I doubt Rod is too happy that people are doing it on his behalf either.

You are effectively bragging about doing something that could land you in prison for while in public. I doubt you would come on here telling people about how you mugged an old lady on the ring road or burgled a house.

TBH if they did, nothing would ever happen lol

They'd hunt down a motorist far quicker than a criminal ! And probably jail one quicker too.

Who knows......Its still not cool to admit in public regardless of it can be used as evidence against you IMO.

Like I said, you are bragging about something that could put you in jail!!!

if the police were investigating.

they have your reg number, its in your avatar
they have your name and address
they can tell the location of where you made that comment,

plus and admission of guilt.

now they may not be able to pin point a specific crime, but if you were involved in something serious, this is all evidence that could be used against you.

Would not stand up I've had the police knock on the door before as I don't get on with the niegbours. Anyway they rang up complaining I ride to fast and I wheelie all the time which is not true as I dont ride like an idiot by my house but may of on the odd ocation been a bit silly! And of course I was worried as they where on the door step but there wasent any thing they was able to do as there was no evidence all they could say was there had been a complaint made and I should be aware plus gave me the they don't won't to be called out to see me liein on the side of the road which was fair enough
