Default Cossie power steering stiff

Fitted new pump and rack, was ok for about 3 miles then went stiff when stationary. Bled it a bit and it's free now but screams when turning and revs are above 2000 rpm, any fooling ideas ?

Have you had the bottom pulley off for any reason?

Ive just had this on mine after putting it back togther after having the pump off for a while! With mine it was the pump not pressurising the oil so i took the pump apart and all the little vains where stuck i cleaned every thing up oiled it and now its fine! also managed to kink the high pressure pipe that go's from the pump to the rack so had to cut that out and braze in a new section as there was no way i was paying 40 quid for a second hand one!

Loads of fluid in it Matt, gonna try a new belt and bleed it some more. When are you going to MSD for your mapping ? I'm dropping mine off on Saturday.

Some power steerings can be a cunt to get the fluid round, get constantly turning the steering left to right on the spot

Bleed it with the front wheels in the air so the oil will pass through the rack without the weight of the car against it

ive always just had the front wheels off the floor and turned lock to lock a few times... the fluid i put in their once caused it to squeel so drained it out and put the cheap motor factors stuff in and never been a problem.. the cheaper stuff looked a lot thicker ..
