Ive seen a few for sale. A few different thickness' 10mm, 14mm, 16mm etc

Im aiming for a punchy 380-400bhp and want to know which is the best option?

I thought all standard inlets were fine up to 400bhp??

 

i think the 14mm one is the one to go for.. i have a 10mm one and was a fucker as had to make the fuel rail fit by grinding the lugs down.. think the 14mm one the rail just fits the other side of the mounting lugs..

Think that's whats always put me off.

 

Actually its the 16mm that fits correctly if you measure the lug.

 

ok cool... i did mine years ago and all i remembered seeing were the 10 and 14mm ones.. i also drilled the threads out on the manifold part so that i could nut and bolt it as thought it would clamp the whole thing tighter now using the 2 gaskets and spacer..

 

we find 14mm spacer and two cometic style gaskets fit just right.

 

Does the thickness affect lag if using a t34?

Really looking for the car to be punchy

billy you need a 4x4 plenum to start with mate or as said a small escort cos one

Not sure on the differences between 2wd and 4x4 inlet runners though?

i had 400bhp on a std 2wd inlet

 

As RAN above, i too had over 400bhp on a standard 2wd plenum. I did fit a 10mm spacer too but you have to file down two little lumps on the other side of the fuel rail mounting points.

As for changing to a 4wd plenum, dont forget the 2wd and 4wd have different fuel rail mounting points.

 

if you already have a 2wd plenum, just get a spacer and mod the restriction out of the elbow

yep, 14mm - it was whatever the group buy we had on here

 

was that on a PF approved DD rolling road

 

You'll have to ask jimbo as the graphs i was given was from them

 

Think how much power you would have had with the correct plenum

 

only on engine dyno tony - i have heard hub dynos dont count

 

Next question is.... who sells the 14mm spacer?

I can find 10mm and 16mm on eBay.... no 14mm's
