Default s1 fuel pump relay

come to start a car, fuel pump/relay works fine
tries to rev, nearly cuts out as fuel pump relay loses power, then the relay gains power again
it keeps on doing this for a while
wtf is up with it
havent got time to have a look right now so any suggestions?

If the relay is deffinately de-energising then it can only be wiring or the relay itself Nige.

S1 rev counter wire is purely for the rev counter and which wire on the alternator do you mean? If it's charging it won't be alternator wiring.

The S1 fuel pump relay is driven directly from the ECU on pin 20 and is a green red.

I'd check the relay mate. Even though its new, doesn't mean anything. My S1 packed up, would start and run for a few seconds and would then cut out. Brought a new relay and still the same problem. Brought a new fuel pump and still the same problem. Spent about £50.00 in autoelectrician bills and still not working. Got my auto electrician on the phone to Daz and it ended up that the relay Ford supplied me with was also faulty gotta really! Do all the checks on the relay 1st as its far easier than tracing all the wiring.
