Default what clutch??

atm i have a 4 paddle clutch engines running about 400 ish mark, works fine etc but is heavy and juddery and quite annoying in traffic! been talking to a few that think a genuine ford motorcraft clutch or organic clutch will take 400 bhp? whats your opinions on this??

I would have thought a 4 - paddle is a bit much for 400bhp, a heavy duty organic clutch would probably be ok, i have a AP one in mine an thats about 320bhp, although if i was you at that power i would probably run a 6 - paddle...

i think it is too tbh, thats why im looking to change idealy after an organic one as that will drive nicer in traffic etc but can be asked to pull it out again if it cant handle it!

Ap organic is the best for 400hp.

How much bhp/nm will the standard clutch handle? I have T3 running 1.3 bar im not quite sure if my Cossie still has stock clutch or not. It doesn't slide and it works very well, and its perhaps little stiff. I should ask the previous owner about that.

i had alcon 6 plate paddle in my 3dr at 400bhp/lbft - and with two left knee ops i can safely say the pedal feel was light and comfortable - i defo would not be able to drive it if it had an AP 6 plate paddle clutch in (which is what my saff is going to have )

I agree on the Alcon... have run both 6 paddles in mine and I prefer it as it is much easier for some reason. 435bhp at the wheels and like you I used to have a horrible 4 paddle!!

cheers for all the replys guys.... ive already converted to hydraulic clutch ages ago, my pedal is quite light considdering what it was on the standad cable! the only issue i have is how juddery it is ie sitting in traffic etc, are the 6 paddles less juddery or will all paddles be the same?
