Default Wanted - Late 80s/early 90s CD headunit

Not sure how rare they are, or if anyone's ever bothered to keep them, but quite fancy getting one of these.....

Don't want anything out a Mondeo etc, as they look too modern, but more like the grey ones came in the top end late 80s Sierras and Granadas.... possibly were optional extras?

Nearest I can find is this, but would rather have an all in one single DIN unit....

A kind offer Dojj..... not sure where little India is though?

Ideally I'm after a single DIN setup though if there is any? And if any were actually made? (I'm sure there were?!)

they did do single ones, but they were the pre 89 spec cars with a separate amp underneath and weren't standard single din sized unit, too long and slightly narrower in height

ps, little india is just west of london mate, so only a quick drive down the motorway from yours

How could they be single DIN and both be longer and thinner?!
If they went in the amp slot in the dash they would be this size (as my Saph has one of these to start with), but then it wouldn't be a single unit, something would be up top in the usual slot too!

I'm down in London often, usually stay in Wembley too

the pre 90 spec cars, the ones with the cover on the ecu slot, had different shaped radios and lower trays than the later double (single) din upper and lower dashboards

if i can find some i'll take some pics of them, but i'm sure if you look through the different pics you've taken over the decades you'll find an inside shot showing what i mean

can't find any images via google so i can't show you what i mean

Yeah, same as mine. Amp isn't DIN sized.

I'm ideally after a single DIN unit as I'd like to convert the amp into a boost controller panel or similar. Second best option would be a period setup to fit the dash as above.

the amp slot though won't accommodate standard 52mm gauges though mate as it's to small

if you'd have spoke to me 10 years ago when i was literally swimming in at last 10 sierras you could have had anything you wanted but nowadays i'm struggling to complete 2 cars, and i've only got to reshell one

Boost controller, not gauges

Anyway, what screen you got replacing the clock on that dash?
