and to think i was gunna swap it for an rs 2000

biggmatt-s2rst I have a spear metering unit which i cleaned up do you think if i was to change it would it make a difference to the cold starting. At the moment when i start my car up it miss fires for a few seconds and then clears once that happens the revs just drop down to 4-500rpm.I then adjust the idle screw but once its warmed up it revs to high at 1000 if not more. I have changed the plugs, ive got brand new injectors and ive disconnected the cold start plug which most people tell to do so what else can it be because its driving me mad
MUST BE THE METERING HEAD what do think i should do?

JaysS2TURBS963., id try the thermo time sensor first but it could be the metering head or an air leak????963.
