Default can i do this?????????????????????????????????????????????? ?

i have an escort van mk4 fitted with full fiesta turbo running gear!

problem is that sum1???? has fitted a complete fiesta turbo loom in it (fuse box & all!) & its now laying up & is a right mess.

i want to fit a 90'spec xr3i efi wireing loom in the van & connect the fiesta turbo engine loom up.

does any 1 know if the engine loom is a seperate part or the loom on an xr3i (like it is on a fiesta)??????????????????????

if not does any 1 know the differnce between a xr3i efi engine loom & a fiesta turbo OFAB engine loom??????

i know this is possible as my old turbo van had the loom done like this but not sure how it was done?????

any ifo would be very helpfull!

cheers

The engine loom is separate. It connects with one wire to the fuse box, and that is it. The 3i loom will need 2 wires cut and swapped, and has no wiring for the Amal valve. You can run without an amal, get something like GReddy or apexi instead.

Details of the wires that need swapping can be found at http://www.chardcars.co.uk/

There is also a thread in Fiesta-Turbo.com...however, the details seem to be a bit mixed up. I have my own notes and a few wiring diagrams, PM if you want them.

if your putting the whole xr3i 90 spec loom in the car then you will only need to swap 2 of the wires at ecu.
the engine loom is not seperate on xr3i. it is all 1 loom.
xr2i's have a seperate loom, xr3i's dont.

Yeah I spose technically it is not separate but cut one wire and it has nothing more to do with the rest of the cars electronics. Unlike cars these days that have one ECU controlling everything from the engine to how long the interior light stays on.

I'll send you all I have on the conversion. I also have a converted 3i loom, complete, which actually came out of a ZVH van.
