you need to use a puller mate, then when its off clean the nose of the crank with some valve lapping paste before fitting pulley back on

Right heres what i did.

Get a couple of G clamps and an inch thick (at most) longish block of wood, a touch wider than the pulley.

Pop the bolt back into the crank a few turns & place a block of wood over the end of the bolt, take your g clamps and wind them down so that they just fit over the blocks of wood and the threaded part you turn touches the pulley, one on the front of the engine one on the back, then slowly wind the G clamps in.

I found this was nice and cheap as had the bits lying around the garage and was nice and compact.

Mine have always come off with a gentle tap with a small hammer around the back/edge and a wiggle.

Use a pry-bar and tap it gently from behind while prying... WD40 helps too.

Block of wood and G-Clamps sounds like a plan if all else fails!

WELL WELL WELL

with gentle/ish prying as the pulley would probably have snapped or bent with much more force a few knocks some wiggles a bash with the g clamp idea loads of wd40

and it still didnt come off!

wasnt too worried because the timing belt was done last year in april anyway so has only covered 2000miles but since i was changing the head thought id go ahead with it.

anyway she popped off in the end and ill be fitting new tensioner as well as a belt this time!

WHAT A BAS$£RD
