Default ECU Dilema......help....

OK you all now know i have ceased to use the S8 as basically its crap or maybe it was just my one...ok it was just my one

So i got a choice of AUTRONIC SM2 or SM4......now you may say its fooking obvious BUT i want traction control which is gear selectable...it looks as if SM4 may not get it...so if it doesnt i am tempted to just go SM2 after all it does Rodneys car ok ....Obvious SM4 has more features...but do i really need em on a road car?..I have looked and feel i dont as i am used to S8 which has nowhere near the features of SM2 ...TC on its own is around £500 but this ECU has it already in it

Mark obviously says you wouldnt buy last years when this years model is coming...but i want TC Fook of saying its crap Rainbird...

Go SM4, it sounds better in the pub

Drop me a PM letting me know where you want to meet me later to get rid of that S8 ecu that you dislike so much, about 8pm ok for you?

Personally, I would go T6 2000 over Autronic, you can pick this up second hand for £1k....

So decision made, so stop wasting everyone's time .

You are a Madette, so no harm in sounding like one . Go along with what Mark says and at least you'll have a fast car that works instead of going by your own (lack of ) wisdom and having a slow one that doesn't .

Well I'm at Bedford on 19th Feb, why don't you show me? .

You are forgetting, my own car had a proven 180mph top end - my Escort would run rings around it in ANY scenario other than a straight blast from 90-170mph. However, in any real world situation, it would destroy my Sapphire, and I know my Sapphire would destroy your car (which hasn't got the traction / handling / braking set up that my Sapphire had/has - as it is still alive ), so ipso-facto .

Phil,
I was talking about MY car from 90-170mph, NOT yours (which couldn't do that speed, as it has not been set up to do so, so will melt ).

i'm in the same boat ,sm4 is not realeased yet iirc , i was waiting for sm4 just cus it has knock control , but am thinking i can get a stand alone knock device for less than the cost difference between sm2 & sm4
don't know what other features there are ?
another point for me is mark will not have mapped one before although its probably well within his capability i don't fancy being guinea pig.
any cost info out for the sm4 yet?
so looks like sm2 for me

Mike - does that mean that the whole time you had the Sapphire, you weren't living in the real world?

You have mail by the way...........

Phil - Traction control? Maybe you should go 4x4

i'm suprised the sm2 launch control isn't configurable to be traction control.
