but hey! each to there own!
ive been told today that dump valves are really shite in fact the person told me your it actually make the car feel slower. Must admit i was drove around in my car today without a dump valve and it felt quite good. So its 50 50 for me becos i like the sound of the dump valve

Not the biggest fan as most seem to be fitted to cars (mainly Renault 5 turbos) that are running a fart's worth of boost and sound like defective air brakes at best, but my car is running approx 23 psi, so couldn't realy get by without it.
Doesn't sound too bad either for the same reason.
A combination of this, the noise of the turbo, the sound of big fat fuely flames cracking out the tailpipe on the rev limiter and the howling/sucking of an angry/hungry/thirsty CVH at 7000+ RPM makes for a pretty addictive soundtrack.
Also gear changes and pick up are both quite swift, this may be due in part to the valve, but that is only conjecture on my part.
Originaly would have been very bad idea to fit d.v. as standard plumbing meant that operation of the valve sent the metering unit and consequentially the fuel mixture completely doolally, i.e. lean and then rich and so on, resulting in horrible driving experience and eventually damage to engine from a combination of pinking and bore wash (nice).
However, I was informed a number of years ago when my engine was built that some clever fettling had been done to the air plumbing that allowed the use of a valve without causing fueling problems, thus enabling the use of higher boost pressure.
I think in other cases, using a valve needlessly is just stupid; and should only be employed as a last resort as in the case of my engine. But then that's just my humble opinion.
Cheers.

All i can say is this , ive got a brand new D/V no reason whatsoever to take it off , but tried it anyway , and it DOES feel alot smoother to drive , not that it was a bad driver with it on , its just feels better without
to be honest no one can really comment until theve tried both ways, that coming from a guy who would actually prefer it to be the opposite as the noise was okk vrooom tssshhhhh , u miss it when its not there and then wonder what all the fuss is about when it on
leave it out is my opinion

I like the sound of my dump valve, but as above if i had loud chatter i would take the dv off straightaway, I tried it without the dv and at 10psi (mfi)I didnt get any chatter whatsoever, so needless to say the dv went back on
i like the sound of mine, but this month, i will be buying a replacement samco to take the dv out, and see what mine goes like... mines running 11psi, s2, will mine chatter? If not, will i notice a difference?
