can any one let me know about upgrading s1 brakes, i got calipers
of a 2wd sierra cos, been told that i need 2wd discs and 4wd calipers,
does any one else know of this?
been looking in magazines and 1 car had hi spec brackets or something
like that, does any one have any info on them, my brakes seriously
need upgrading especially when i get my engine back with more power

whats the difference between 2wd and 4wd calipers

 

I believe the Willwoods are not that good.....

The 2wd calipers are heavy cast iron 4 pot calipers where as the 4x4 are large diameter single pot calipers which creates extra clearence around the spoke area but then don't fit straight on as they need modifying where the disc runs through them....The 2wd calipers don't fit straight on either as they need brackets and then I don't know if they will fit behind the wheels.

The easiest upgrade is a set of caliper spacing brackets, S2 calipers and 2wd Cossie discs...

 

4wd calipers and 2wd discs are fine you just need 4 washers to position the calipers and file off some of the inner caliper to clear the disc. its not hard
the other option is focus st170 caliper with there 300mm disc which goes straight on although i beleive the brake pipe need changing as they ar different and will leak.
