im looking to buy an rs turbo engine and box, i know of one for sale it comes with the turbo but the lads wanting £500 theres no chance i can here it run and its been stoodd a couple of years.... any ideas??

Sounds expensive without more details really?what car did it come out of?claimed mileage,mods,history?

All things to ask.also,is it totally complete and deffo a turbo lump,not a modded xr3i job?

Pretty sure you could find a better alternative on here zvh,zetec turbo etc for that sort of money.

dont really know a lot mate to be honest, standard i reckon came out of a stolen recovered car and has been sat in a lock up for years, im doing a escort popular up and fancied something other than the 1.3 maybe a 1.8 zetec, im thinking id be bettre getting a full car though least then iill have all the bits

 

Depends on a few things as said above milage/histoy etc also what turbo and has the box got lsd as a good t3 turbo will cost between 150-200 and about the same for a lsd box

 

The zetec route seems popular right now,you could buy a whole escort zetec for about £200 now!!!you'll need a lot of bits for the rst conversion but of course you can easily and cheaply get about 175bhp out of it,a lot more if your prepared to spend.

Just a thought,but what about an rs2000 motor?I reckon the whole car should be yours for £5-600 as a rotter and at least you'll get the seats,brakes alloys etc to go in yours.the engines are tough but not that tuneable although their 150 out of the box.

 

got a t3 off egay for 100 and it was sweet with manifold

 

,been stood for that long all gaskets an seals be fooked ,mine stood for 3 years and i ended up haveing rebuild it for mate i sold it to

500 quid more like 350/400 if it complete with box
