Hey everyone.Ive done about 20K miles on 4 paddle ap racing clutch. In the last year or so,the clutch would slip now and again but no enough for me to worry.but.. after getting my rs back on the road saturday,it now slip when hard on boost at 3K.Revs go mad above this.Driving normally it fine of course but then that beats the point of owning a rs.I thought they werent ment to slip! Was fine for first year of being fit.any help be great.Maybe new clutch!
Impossible to say. Everyone drives differently and it's driving habits (not engaging/disengaging the clutch properly, hillstarts without using handbrake etc) that are as likely to kill the clutch as pure power.

car is running at least 212 of torque. As dyno figures were taken with standard head.now runs stage 3 so coule be more.Im sure i read they only took 169 torque but i must of misread or wrong page on ap racing. As far as im aware no leaks.I park in same spot every day and no signs.Had look around in engine to see,but still no leaks.Must be on its last legs.more money! :-p

So its done me well lol.keep the preasure plate?is it worth the risk lol.thanks for your feedback.I never knew they only lasted short period.doh.
The first question is which AP Racing clutch kit # was fitted?
If its part # CP2015-8 then this has a torque capacity of 170lbft (this can be compare to 170 BHP on a turbo). If the installation has more torque then the stronger option is required. Also check on removal to see If the driven plate thickness is worn down to 5.6mm if so consider it worn out , hence slipping the
issue! Also check for wear on pressure plate and flywheel drive faces. Paddle type driven plates are aggressive on drive faces.

A better option is clutch kit # CP2000-35
This uses a high clamp pressure plate coupled to an organic driven plate, providing 230 lbft torque, but more user friendly a road application than a paddle type.

This conversion may require the use of the MkV Pedal & Quadrant to achieve adequate release travel. These are Ford parts but see web page for details.
