Default electronic speedo calibration help mtx75

just wiring up my electronic speedo and im a bit stuck its a caerbont electronic jobby

basically im using a focus rs gearbox and the standard hall sensor on the box

to calibrate it says

number of poles on sensor x cable drive revs per mile or kilometre = calibration number

anybody else using a electronic speedo with a mtx that can shed some light we be greatly appreciated

It's easy to do, simply count the number of poles on sensor first,
Next jack up one wheel(2 if lsd) mark the bottom of the tyre and rotate one complete revolution whilst counting the turns of the bit that drives the speed sensor, may need a helper much easier.
Then multiply this number by the turns per mile of the tyre, easy to get from maufacturer(if not pm me), then multuply the answer with the amount of poles on the sensor, that equals the calibration number, can aslo tweak with sat nav if you get it slightly out.

many thanks for that what do you mean by counting the poles on the sensor?

remove the sensor from the box and look inside?

dont know if im barking up the wrong tree here just been doing some reasearch trying to find out about how many poles the focus rs speed sensor has found an article on fiesta turbo.com

Focus RS 'Box (MTX 75) has 26 pulses/rev. With 195/45/15

does that mean 26 poles?

right ive confused my self this doesnt make any sense at all the instructions say the speedo can work of hall effect sensor with the formula poles on sensor x cable drive revs per mile = calibration number also just found out that my speedo can work off ecu which the formula is number of pulses per mile = calibration number

so i guess if ive got 26 puleses per rev if i work out how manys rev per mile i have the answer?

the revs per mile of my tyres are 921 thats with 195/45/15

so 921x26 = 23946

i know im using the sensor on the gearbox but my gearbox doesnt have cable revs does it so im just assuming that using the ecu mode will work as i know the pulses per mile?

fuck im confused help please :'(

Can use the ecu pulse if you want, any can be used so long as you know for sure the amount correctly, then do sums as you have.
