Default efi idle

I have searched through old post and have seen that my problem has been posted before but hasnt been replyed with a fix i was just hoping that someone can help me

the problem is that i have converted to efi ofab using xr3i loom all pins have been swaped and wire on edis cut, now when its started it idles like a pig and stalls, ive found that when the vacum pipe from the map sensor is unpluged it run fine and is responsive on the throttle, but overfuels really badly.

all the sensors have been swapped from a running efi car and its still the same, mine is wired exactly the same as the running car.

i really carnt think of anything else it can be any help would be great as im doin my nut now

sounds like you have got idle valve issues.
check for voltage to the idle valve and that it is moving when engine cranks.
other than that raise the base idle by bending the stop on the throttle linkage to open the butterfly a bit more.

hi thanks for the fast reply

right i havn`t got a multimeter till tomorrow so carnt check the volts but with the vack pipe from map sensor unpluged it ticks over then stalls when i unplug the idle control so there is some power to it, and ill get my mate to bend the throttle linkage im not 100% confident,

its strange as my mate has the exact same setup as me same ecu same wiring an all my sensors, an when put on his car runs mint and all his stuff on mine and mine runs shit rough totally lost

anymore ideas folks

If you take the ISCV valve off but leave it pluged in im pretty sure you should see the plunger move when the ignition is switched on and off, if it moves give it a good clean out with carb cleaner and re oil it and if it doesn't move check voltage/replace, works with sierras any how

hi craig, yes your car has got a few problens, like you say, when you rev it up, it pops and bangs, sound like you got anti lag fitted ?and wont tickover, and when you pull the vac pipe for his boost gauge off the inlet manifold his car cuts out ,but should keep running?.but when the map sensor pipe is pulled off,it revs up like it should, but overfuels like mad,

totally lost now will only idle with map sensor unpluged as soon as u connect it back up it stalls straight away,

its got to be somthing minor just dont know what else to try

Wots the fueling like mate? Have you tryed adjusting that as it sounds like its running how mine was when it was very lean.
The car should just about idle with the iscv disconnected aswell.

have you changed the air charge temp sensor for efi-turbo one?

doesn't the idle valve work under certain conditions?
what is the base idle set to?
unplug the plug from idle valve and adjust the stop position for the throttle linkage (bend the stop tab for ease) and then plug valve back in.
i think you're trying to make the idle valve do all the work to control air at idle when it really only operates to lift the revs a little.
