Ive just bought a mk4 popular and was woundering if the axles and suspension setup is different. I should imagine the suspension is different but does it mount differntly? also are the axles and stubs wider? Thanks for any help, tommy

 

They are slightly differant but nothing major apart from being a touch lower the fronts will bolt straight on no differance (apart from being a touch lower)
The rears will bolt straight on aswell with the added bonus off a rear anti-roll bar and bigger drums

Was thinkin of standard turbo stuff after seeing how well one handled on 5th gear.

Dont want too harsh cause being a cab it'll flop about a bit...

Aston, the fronts are the same but i think the rear shocks are slightly differant the arms, springs and drums will fit though

Mark i live in saddington/kibworth so not far atal from brunters.

 

all rst gear will bolt up to mk3/4 escort shells including the cabs

 

a escort cab runs the same rear brakes as a turbo anyway
only thing missing is the anti roll bar
stub axles etc are all the same

Mark mines in storage at the mo as i still have another car. My other car will be coming off the road end of june so i can get the car ready for a respray hence why i got the escort for daily. The escort i bought last week. Its a 1.3 popular with 33,000 on with 1 lady owner from new. The car belonged to an elderly women but she died and her family sold it on i guess for inheritance money. I got a very good price on it . It came with tax and mot till july and there is no rott atal. The sills have been done but thats the only bit of welding. The car is completley standard. When it comes out of staorage i will start a progress thread. I will be planning on dropping a 2.1 zvh in but keeping it sleeperish.
