Default 1.4 cvh efi running pats

my brother is putting a 1.4 cvh efi in to his fiesta the only thing is that the car it came out of runs pats which goes through the ecu the only way that we think to get it running is by putting the key against the pats. we are wodering if there are any other ways past it. cheers

i'd carb it myself, but what engine was in the fiesta in the first place, if it was a early 1.4 cvh injection it should run on the fiesta loom anyway. pats can be sorted but its a pain.

oh I see, you could get a loom from an earlier 1.4 escort without pats and run it off that or just bung it into a decent auto electrician, they should be able to sort it. i'm not to clued up on electrics to be honest what year is the car your putting it into and was the 1.1 on carbs or injection??? if it was carbs just put the 1.4 on carbs, no need for a ecu then, nice set off twin 40s and it will go a treat, i'd have gone for the 1.6cvh to be honest but if the 1.4 is all you have then so be it.
