New track/race magazine offering free subscriptions
http://www.trackdriver.com/
Click and enter your details. It looks like subscriptions are free. Worth a shot as the magazine could be pretty good - the spirit of Cars and Car Conversions and Track & Race Car.

I presume it's an online thing, so no one would pay for it anyway. Hence why it's 'free'.

If they're giving away subscriptions then the mag won't be around for long. They'll also be lucky to get 5000 readers, let alone 25K subscribers, so I'm not really sure what's going on there.
I would assume that it is the case that by getting a guaranteed 25k readers they are hoping to get advertising to cover their costs? Or its a scam!

I edited my reply as I realised it must be online. No magazine could be profitable by giving away 25K copies.

I thought it must be something like that too, because the printing costs, distribution etc would cost mile more than it would be worth the bother for.

Fair points. It is a print magazine based on a free subscription model and funded by ad sales. Don't think it'll get 25k subscribers - they're aiming for 10,000.

Blimey, very brave. Wish them luck but can't see how it can make any money. In a normal magazine the sales count for roughly 50% of the income. When staff, paper, production costs, repro, printing and distribution are taken out there will be very little left.

I used to subscribed to this magazine for a couple of years about 5 - 6 yrs ago and it was quite good. It is the same company/organisation that produce the Circuit Guide Folders.
Mostly focused around the caterham/elise/911 track goers, but a good read especially if free.

Just recieved my free Issue 1 of Track Driver (incorporating Circuit Driver) magazine.
Good looking articles:
Classic Ford group test
Heat management
plus much more all specifically focused around Trackday drivers.
Nice on Char1ie for posting this thread

Mine came today too. Not actually read it properly, but doesn't look at all bad, especially for a freebie!
