Exclamation need some help please guys

hi guys i got a series 2 rs turbo and the heater aint comming out as fast as it should the fuse is still ok and the heater comes out but really slow any1 got any ideas why this could be happnin i was thinking it might be the heater matrix cheeRS guys

sounds like the heater motor it wont be the matrix mate that is a little radiator fitted under the dash and has no electrics going to it at all

scrap yard or ebay would be my first place to try.
another thing you can try is to take the covers from the heater box under the bonnet and remove the connector from the top of the motor, then take a piece of wire and run it straight from the live on the battery to anyone of the three terminals on the motor and see if it kicks in at speed if it does not its definatley the heater motor at fault

no worries mate any mk4 escort heater box will fit as well so no need to pay a premium by asking for an rs turbo one as they are all the same

What he said^^, but would like to add that I wouldn't bother with a s/h matrix if needed just not worth the hassle if no good, last one I bought for mk3 was around £27 new, from radiator place, the better ones are coming from poland these days pattern wise.
You need to distinguish between air flow and heat, the fan controls the flow of air(speed) the matrix puts the heat in, so if poor heater but heater fan is going round really fast it is most likely matrix/or stat at fault.
Normally really really good heaters on mk3/4.
