Yeah, make it look better or not? or tune it to go faster? change maybe the colour i dont know really just anything you can think of. I dont know about modding cars as such but it just gives ideas to the mind.

personally, i would keep it standard and sell it and by a focus RS or some thing simaliar if your wanting to get into modifying, but if you don't want to do that you could always just upgrade waht you have, remap etc etc

what he said, or just stick a set of wheels on and lower it a bit just so it looks a bit better

Maybe some nicer wheels,a Focus CC front bumper, darkened headlamps and some slightly lower springs would make the world of difference to be honest. Subtle is the way forward

No point pissing your money away on a ten a penny focus. But if you really must then get some nicer wheels on it and lower it a little.

I would save my money.

Modding cars is expensive, especially modding not vey fast cars into fast cars. I would lower it and get some ST alloys. It's a good looking car as is, if you want a colour change then really you need a different car. Maybe an RS?

Well i think modding would be great but i dont have the mind for that kinda thing as a "remap" goes far past me. plus insurance for me on a rs is kinda alot anyway, i was just wondering what every one elsa would do to it.

Remap is reprogramming the ECU (the cars on board computer) to release more power, but on non-turbo cars the gains are small in comparison with something blown (turbocharged). I'd stick with cosmetic until you can afford something like a Focus RS and start with rims and lowering, but be careful not to go too far with it otherwise it'll look like you've ram raided Halfords and will look bloody awful.

Look around at what others have done, see what you like and what looks good and sensible, then formulate your plan from there. Be careful with your budget too, as modifying can run away with your bank balance very quickly....

ahh... you may want to look at admiral.... thats who im with, it also builds up NCB for named drivers..... so maybe worth getting a quote from them for yor mum and you on the policy, that way itll be chaper as its your mums policy, but you will get the NCB aswell. The only catch is the NCB only counts if you stay with admiral?!

cambridge is about an hour and a half drive from me.....

Are you Norwich or Lincs way?
As far as mods go, I'd only do anything you can take off and sell or transfer to your next car. (Mk2 ST/RS I'm guessing?)

id say lowering kit (40mm eibach or something along those lines)

set of alloys from another ford (factory wheels go well on satndardish cars imo) i think some 18" mondeo 5 spoke ones, they have a polished outer bit on the spokes/outer rim and the dished inner of the spoke is just silver (think they are ghia ones

k&n panel filter

then an st/ghia etc interior to have some leather and luxeries (unless your car has these already)

I would do a full Focus ST rep, lower 30mm (Eibach springs) & then chip it (Bluefin probally).

If on a lower budget; lower 30mm (Eibach springs), colour code front & rear bumpers, ST spoiler & tinted rear lights.

Good tires, its amazing the difference between 'eco' tires and sport tires. if u think about it logically if a tire is eco with low resistance/friction that means they've compromised on basic mechanical grip.
