Now DMS claim they can take my M5 from 507bhp to 550bhp and 420ft/lb torque by just a remap In the M world there seems to be the words "bollocks" floating around......can you really acheive such figures from just altering the map as surely BMW made a good job.....i understand that of course bmw would have mapped it for 95ron fuel whereas i guess tuners map purely on 98ron (although doesnt matter what fuel you run as cumputers sorts everything out!) Evolution chips which my family are a dealer claims 30bhp i think according to charts which seems more realistic BUT and before a phone call to msd should i be attempting this remap myselfDid the TT ok but a bit worried due to the m5's dual maps

According to DMS they dont alter the maps in 1st 2nd gear so it sounds a complicated map rather than a superchips/evochips type of thing?

Also i did read somewhere that BMW rated the gearbox to 411ft/lb torque only!

 

i would of thought an inrease like that on an engine as large as the M5 should be achievable, the standard map will be restricted by emition laws of various countries, some of which are far nore stringent than ours, california for example

I've remapped my ST with dreamscience software, they claim it takes it to 270bhp / 330 lbft, weather that is true or bollocks I can't say until I eventually get it over to M-tech to stick it on the rollers!
