Default what would cause a fuel tank blow back

hi all just wandering what would cause a fuel tank blow back went to fill my car with fuel tonight and i could hardly get any fuel in,it keept knocking the fuel pump off or covering me with fuel :-(
i'v just rebuilt the car after a restore.

as above check breather aint blocked an u aint bent or pinched pipe on tank

is the breather the one that comes from the tank top to the top of the filler neck??

i done exactly the same first time fill up and it chucked fuel all over me
