What generator to run Caravan/motorhome

Default What generator to run Caravan/motorhome

Anyone got any tips on what power generator to run a Motorhome for when im racing and staying overnight.

will need to run Fridge,a little 21"tv lights, water pump when needed?

It really is a bit how long is a piece of string... with gennys the bigger the better, but it is down to your space, noise limitation and budget! anyting above 1kw will be ok, but 2kw to 3kw would be better. work out the max number of things likely to be going at once and then work out the draw. a normal kettle for instance can pull 2-3k in a spike.
Things will still work with less power, but take a long time..I know, when I had to wait 20 mins for a 4 min microwave dinner to do

No generator
gas fridge, 12v 21 inch hd tv, lights on 12v i see no reason nowadays to need a generater unless a fucking big motorhome and long stays without driving

or as the op says..he's going racing. How long before the van is full of handy air wrenches and compressors.

usually 3 nights without driving . and its a fair size motorhome!

this year im using all cordless impact guns etc so dont think ill be using a compressor

Like said really , big batteries and solar panels on roof to recharge them , no need for genny , im sure what you'd spend on a genny you could get a couple of good solar panels and some spare batteries and you can have peace and quiet at the end of the day , no hum from genny for you or your neighbours .

It'll offset your carbon footprint while racing lmao

my motorhome has got solar pannels, inverter, and loads of gadgets built in lol
havent figured out how to use it all yet

i have a larger battery underneath. must figure out how to use it all lol

Lol you better get the instructions out then i think and save yourself some money cos by the sounds of it you've got all the kit already .
