Default How well would a T4 run on an rst engine?

had a bit of banter with a lad on another forum and he reckons he's got a T4 on his frst engine in his xr2.
firstly he's on a 165 chip and seems to be using an ERST downpipe/elbow combination.
he also reckons a mate ran a T4 on an Escort RS turbo and was spooled up by 3750rpm.
is he just chatting shite as i suspect?
or is there merit in what he's saying?

cheers
sean

Stock manifold ? I very much doubt it LOL Their huge and simply wouldn't fit without a spacer and a LOT of fooking about.

Can you smell something ??

I know a t34 on standard manifold is very laggy not to mention if you could fit a t4 on there.

I'd imagine it's one of these Ebay T3/T4 oddball things, for about Ł200 and he has got carried away that it's a proper T4.

Like this piece of shit.....

Any turbo bigger than a T34 is going to need careful spec'ing of the engine by someone who knows what they are doing.

dont just bolt a huge turbo on and hope for the best, its likely to be very dissapointing.

that's what i was thinking too, it has a spacer between manifold and turbo, but it's the fivebolt arrangement on the exhaust side that got me a bit confussed.

tim and ollie are using more than a 165 chip though on frst management in a pretty low spec engine.

I bet hes got his wires crossed and its a t34 or something.
even then with a 165 chip it would be useless lol

I very much doubt the 165 chip (or 195) contains a map to fuel for anything other than a stock T3, specially as we have no MAF sensor, it would either overfuel like crazy to accommodate bigger turbos or run extremely lean!
