Having driven the new focus rs yesterday and almost bought it ,i may strip my car for bits its been in the process of happening a bit and is prob a hard if not the hardest decision ive thought about for ages.Havin had my car for years i recon these new younguns can have a crack so if u see a for sale post for bits you know why.

if you've got the box in i would atleast see what it does on that as you might just improve some of your times and if in future someone does it on what will be your current setup will be you'll of wondered what if, but if you need money quick then only one thing for it but beware stuff going rather cheap at moment

new focus rs is sweet, and owning a st, i can see the attraction. However ford are releasing the new RS next year with the 2.0 direct injection fuel effieceint engine with 300bhp which will probably kill the prices on the current one, so have a good think before committing now!

Shit, goof luck mate! Really pissed off with ford with the st and rs.... they could have so easily made a 4x4 rs! and i would have bought one as im sure would a lot of other rs owners would. And the next thing they will do is re-release the capri as fwd as well!

Rob,

Although its nice to have a new reliable car, i think it would be better to keep your car as a project get something a little cheaper a mk1 frs or st. You will regret selling your escort in time and youve taken yours so far it would be a great shame to let it all go.
All the best with your decision.
Mk 2 FRS are the nuts though !!

your joking right ?

why not keep the escort until the focus novelty wears off

i done the same thing but bought a astra turbo instead, it all seemed great because all the new stuff parts i could look at to get for the car, but 9 months later i was bored and the car i sold i could never get back

Here in the UK, we hook the shell up to the back of a van and drag it into the dealer, its OK.

Oi you, don't think that just because I said I love your car that it entitles you to abuse me. Did I say top 3? I meant bottom 3.

what happened to the mtx conversion was really looking forward to seeing your car break records you already own, or are you just getting too old for it now

Legendary car mate, one of the very few that i've always admired as it produces the goods in every discipline so well, unlike most of the big power one trick pony's!! Good luck with the focus RS......i wonder how much you'll spend trying to make it go like your escort though
