want to change the boot badge on my fezz st any tips on a clean removal

 

you need a hairdryer and when its off then wipe it with panel wipe to take the last of the glue off

 

ya need a toffee wheel mate to get glue off but dout ya have one ,heat badge with hair dryer an use some thing like a plastic ruler if you dont have a bodge spreader to hand then tar remover shud get glue off

job done ,went out for a spin and it didnt fall off.didnt have a plastic ruler or much else to get the old one off,but cut down a small plastic bottle so i was holding the threaded end and the cut was at the bottle kneck then after heating with the hairdryer slide the bottleedge under the badge and in one go sliced it off

 

good man did you clean off the old glue mate

 

yeah, it cleaned up well ,the hardest part was gettig the wife to lend me the dryer cos everything that goes down the garage dosent come back lol

 

never tried this but its easy to make a hash of it i think, so well done for doing it right first time

 

its easy to do with abit of patients

get a bit of cotton thread, double it up a few times
use it to saw through the back of the badge
simples

 

As dojj says - hot water is better than a hairdryer - less chance of burning the paint

 

cant see a hair dryer burning the paint?! heat gun maybe lol, took mine off the other day but i was lazy and just used a filler spreader then cleaned off the xcess glue with solvent degreaser but had left a few scuffs with the spreader so a bit of G3 compound and a mop and job done
