that was when racing was racing in BTCC, not the crap they call BTCC now

 

i thing i love about old btcc is that the cars look like normal cars witch we had & could make them look like the btcc cars,lower it,wheels & done lol
today they look fook all like cars we are use to seeing.

 

That was awesome! Loved touring cars back then, it gets more boring every year!

Used to love watching the touring cars but just seems so boring now in comparison to years ago. I watched a bit of it a couple of months back and switched it off half way through!

Only Motorsport I like watching now is the rallying and British/world superbikes.

 

I have to admit I watched it last sunday for the first time in years and it was quite good.
I was surprised tho that the lap times at Knockhill seemed to be about the same as I can remember from the mid 90s.

Deffo not the same as back in the day though, i remember me, my dad and my brother would spend sunday afternoons sitting infront of the tele cheering on John Cleland and Ivan Muller and Alain Menu etc... Was awesome.

Not as hardcore now as it was back then. Also don't like how honda use the civic and ford use the focus etc instead of the proper saloons, accord and mondeo etc... I assume there is a reason for it though, probably financial?

What the fuck are people who keep saying it's not as good now as it was back then and it's dull on?

Obviously been watching it with your eyes shut because nothing's changed. It's non-stop panel rubbing from start to finish. Better now than it's ever been now it's 99% independent.

My father and I did exactly the same, back in the day. Last season I followed properly was 2000 - the last of the SuperTouring years. After that it just became pretty boring, the Vauxhalls dominated in the seasons immediately after, and no one else could touch them
