you ALWAYS get this dilemma when you have free range over what you can fit into a car.
you should've heard the engines my uncle was thinking of putting into his mk2 jag, just because the bay was empty. i think the silliest was an impreza turbo engine
its up to you, cossie is very cool BUT its also been done abit now. it would probaly drive alot nice with the cossie lump in though. think of parts/ maintenance afterwwards. reliability though and the v8 will probably win

ls1/2 lighter than a fully dressed yb and can be turbo'd straight away if you need it more reliable! sounds awesome id say v8 is the way forward

Get it done mate, it will take abuse all day long and still get you to work the next morning. No point being a sheep and following the crowd!
Could it be worth making the bodywork 1.3 popular spec too?

You and your idea's beef, a v8 would be cool and mental, as said above a cossie lump in a mrk4 has been done afew times now! i would love to see a v8 in there but if it gets done is another thing lol, go for what your mind tells you am sure what ever the result is it will be cool and very quick.
Over and out.
Over and out.
Although torque bhp may be similar, the V8 will feel shed loads quicker in everyday driving, no doubt producing most of the torque before 2000rpm, bloody fast with no effort, the way I'd go, not necessarily that V8 but a V8 of us origin.
