wenny, yes mate, completely strip the head, its worth doing imho and going solid lifter, do it all in one go, to do solid lifter it is a bit of work,

headwork, iskys, solid lifters, cams that suit solid lifters (im sure theyre different for some reason ?!) then you have to do all the tappet shims, its a long job, but give it 8k all day with no problems

there are some new "anti pump" hydraulic lifters, apparently tested at scs, but i havnt heard of them, but im not at work all the time so its possible they have !

wether theyre good or not, i dont know !

if you go solid lifter route, you can apparently use diesel 1800 solids and VW buckets, but i've got no experience with them

these guys also do solids http://www.arrowprecision.co.uk/

see i dont want to go that far with this motor, this year. i have another motor that im going to get built up for next year with bigger mods, not sure what yet
but this motor is being mapped at the end of the month and have been advised bd 16 inlet, bd 15 exhaust cams with uprated valve springs would help

only around the 100 mark,

i ran bd 14/bd16 combo to 8k with no issues at all,

depends how high you want to rev tbh, if your not going solid lifters then 8k is absolute tops imo anyway, and these are way up to that

id speak to martin and see what he has used them up to...

So if they were originally designed for that application why would they become coilbound??? The answer is in the question!

now onto the question, in your opinion is it worth doing the head work to fit iskys.. ?

or, is there an alternative with similar stregnth that go straight in ? eg yours ?

As those peeps for a mod free solution - my head had VF34s which I think required no mods to the head. I never fitted them, they were done by the head machinist, but I'm sure he said they were a direct swap.

Or you can go to www.reyland.co.uk - I'm sure they do a mod free swap in spring. Might be best to ring them on 0121 458 6010 the gent who runs the place is a busy chap so 2 mins on a call will get a quicker answer than writing him a 2 page PM!

I also know a person who used kent double ones in his 500+ bhp cossy engined 4x4 kit car. And as I know he also didn't modified his head or platforms. Who can confirm that KENT double valve springs for cosworth can be used direct swap without modifications?
