Default Ford 2007RDS, 2040cd and amp

Hello all,

Does anyone know what the grey wire with the yellow stripe is for?

Its an RDS2007 & 2040CD Escort Cosworth set up with amp.

Its on the power block so it's not a speaker,

I know that

Red - +
Black - -
Blue - Remote turn on
Orange - Illumination
grey with yellow stripe ?

any ideas anyone?

Thanks...

the grey with yellow tracer is for illumination and connects to the car lighting circuit.

If it's not connected to anything the cd only plays through 2 channel. When It's connected to + everything works fine?

I would disconnect everything and check the feeds with a multimeter, orange isn't usually illumination on the car side of the circuit. you should also have a perminent live(usually red) and and accessory (first key turn) live (usually yellow or orange)
