hi all does anyone know if a mondeo v6 engine will mate straight to the gearbox of a rs 2000 4x4 cheers

I very much doubt the bolt pattern on the V6 would match the old Ford standard 4 cylinder pattern.

You can get 4X4 mondeo,are the boxes different.

I was under the impression that they differed for pre, and post 98. i.e Zetec, and Duratec. (rod and cable) and different input shafts.

I would imagine the 4x4 Mondeo box would fit, but the 4 and 6 cyl boxes differ (unless someone knows different)

Yeh the zetec gear box will be different to the V6 one.I would have a look on a mondeo site.

Pic showing where the transfer box fits on MTX75



Not much chance of a V6 fitting even if the bolt holes did line up.

EDIT to add transfer box will not fit with the 2wd oil filter as pictured, the 4wd version has an aluminium adaptor that moves it out of the way.
