Ive just been given a 1.8 si escort that has been totally stripped all thats left is two seats and a speedo. Anyone got any ideas of how to make it a little quicker for the track for as cheap as possible!!!!

(it will be my first time on track so just thought id use this)

Better suspension, and better brakes would be the order of the day!

Then some decent semi-slick tyres, like a toyo R888, and bob's yer maw's bro! Personally I wouldn't waste anything on engine mods, as gains per £ are small.

After the above the 2.0 engine conversion is very easy to do and well worth it.
