alpine stereo ipod/usb help

Default alpine stereo ipod/usb help

got alpine 502r head unit and it has a usb lead with ipod adaptor connected to it,, and also has a 3.5 jack tail,,, just wondering if you could use this as aux in from a lap top or that?

There's no reason why not! The AUX will just read the signal that comes from your headphone socket. You may find though that you get quite a lot of interference if you have the laptop plugged into the fag lighter. In which case you may want to fit a 'ground loop isolator'.

the 3.5 jack doesn.t seem to work thou,,, did notice that it has 4 connection bands rather than usual 3

You can get an RCA-to-jack connector, maybe that'd work - Only for audio obviously, not visuals.

Is it a video AUX, hence the 4 bands, and the computer has a regular audio AUX? If so the RCA-jack would seem like the best option.

looks like the jack is for optional in via ipod connector (the 3.5 plugs into the back of the stereo
