About 3 months ago i purchased 1 of the new generation Red Sea Max marine aquarium from my local specialist, It was filled with the correct salt RO water supplied by the shop & the correct amount of live rock, it was then left for a few weeks to settle. After a few days i noticed that there was millions of tiny micro bubbles that normally disapear after a few days.

After 3 months its still full of bubbles & looks like shit! Ive spoken to Red Sea direct & to the guy who sold it to me but none of them have a fucking clue!!

Thought id ask on here before i kindly ask for a full £1000 + refund on the complete set-up!

I know theres alot of people on here that keep marine set-ups so hoping someone can help!

Not like this mate ive had 3 matured tanks over the 6 years ive been keeping marine & never had any problems, The 2 outlets look like fooking exhausts!!!!

 

Theres not a hole in one of the pipes is there?

Or a fualty pump drawing in air?

They'll go, eventually! You can't really send a tank back for being faulty?! It's just glass!!

 

My old man keeps some veriety of fish (no idea what they are called) that require a very high oxygen content and as such the water is full if tiny bubbles it almost like looking in to a glass of bubbly. He does it by a venturie system, posh way of saying that as the water it expelled from the pump it draws air in and when it leaves the tube its full of tiny bubbles. Is that whats happening in your tank?

The only other cause a can think of is that the gravel/sand used on the bottom of the tank was not cleaned properly and the particals are to small for the filliter to fillter out and thay are still suspended in the water. Only way that i know of to get rid is to do lots af part water changes.

Its hard to get a clear shot but you can see how cloudly the water looks due to the amount of tiny bubbles....

 

Marine tanks with a fair amount of current can easily end up like that.. it's how you lay the tank out that fixes it!

 

Thats down to the filter mate, you can see the fine bubles coming out in the first pic

 

I think it may have something to do with the protein skimmer but cant be sure.. The tank is doing as it should but anyone who knows about marine will know they should run crystal clear with no bubbles which all my old systems & shop systems you see do?
