thinking of modding my engine for some more bhp. its 8v 1.6cvh. whats the best way for more power. not turbo. and what sort of bhp can i expect with mods fitted. cheers.

 

Just the usual mate, on my old xr2i, i went for a Kent 22 CVH cam and vernier pulley, super chip and a powerboost valve (i have these two for sale), i also had a big air filter.
I was using a standard exhaust with its middle silencer removed, it went very well, it was at least 120+bhp. HTH, PM with offers on the parts i have for sale

 

Stage 1 head, kent cam/vernier, chip induction/zorst etc will see a good 126bhp mate

 

My xr2i 1.6 8v is ... 120 bhp @ wheels....

My mods are :
Skimmed the head
over size pistons
Kent Cam kit cvh 32
Scorpion Exhaust back box and tail pipe
K&N air induction kit
Kent Cam Belt
Kent Cam Vernier Pulley
general service parts oil, fuel filter, spark plugs....
new rad
Silicon Leads
Lucas Fuel Pump
the list goes on................
its a total re-build

i just recently bought ashley 4-2-1 manifold.... should give me 7-10 bhp..

i havnt got a super chip or explored on THROTTLE boddies yet..
