Default (xr2) mk2 carb replaced by mk 1...??

as above, the mk 1 is manual choke right? an the mk 2 isnt? if this is correct do i just need to get a universal cable from, halfords, ford, etc..... ??
an as far as fitting is it a simple bolt on replacement to the later one??

does anyone run theer car without a filter?

mk1 carbs aint all that neways, u want a early square top mk2 carb

look basically same as mk1 but have larger chokes or sumthin

ive got a early square top
its a bit grubbby im told it worked fine on the last car it was used on, ive had it in the shed for a while

Ł35 posted with the manifold, and pump and other bits and bobs





shud ebay it really, give me a shout if u fancy it cos i may ebay it this sunday,

my mk1 was a manuel, think it was a conversion tho cos teh choke cable wernt fitter all that well on the dash

sold it with the engine

Like ive told you on msn mate, its an auto choke, when fitting it to your mk2 you will just had to bridge the old auto choke water hoses, i think the new carb may need a live feed, (the mk1 recieves it from the alternator) i think, just fit it and see mate, my old crossflow never needed a choke to start it up, even in the coldest weathers.
