gasket between engine and box?

Default gasket between engine and box?

Is there a gasket that goes between the engine and gearbox? where would I get it from, ford?

ive never had one unless you mean the plat that covers the bottom of the flywheel

so that's the case i have o idea lol maybe bit of an obscure part

Ok, I'm building up my new engine on saturday. Bottom end is complete, head is complete and gearbox is complete - they all just need bolting together. I was just unsure if there should be a gasket between the box and the bottom end if ya know what I mean! lol

there isnt a gasket as such,but there is a metal plate thts in a C shape tht goes between the box and engine,and a dust cover for the bottom,ive never put either back on,but i guess u should if u got em..

as above u should have a metal c shape plate which has a large hole at one end for the starter motor to sit through and all the way along it are small holes which locate it onto the dowels of the engine and lines it up with the gearbox mounting holes

Maybe there should be a gasket to keep the oil in when the rear main oil seal goes.

Get a wet clutch like those used on motorbikes then it will all be good!
