Thumbs up starter motor connections/wires

right, i know this might sound mad but, my starter motor/gearbox has been off for a while, and im a bit miffed on the connections,

heres what im sure of

the tiny red and black with metal hoop connector ~ goes to the small post!
the big/thick black sleeved red wire with big metal hoop connector ~ goes to the big post!
both on the solenoid!

now, the big/thick black sleeved earth wire earths on the gearbox/cradle/chassis.

the problem i have is the two wires hanging about in this area.

the first is a blue wire,(spade ended) which comes out of the same sheath as the tiny red/black wire . where does this one go????

and the next is the black sheathed double wire which both look to be brown in colour(or is it a faded red?),which are both connected to another large hoop connector. where does this one go????

its been an age since ive been at the car, hence its been off the road for yonks, and now, money and time are back in my favour, im sticking it back together!

(new clutch,flywheel,starter motor,turbo,ecu,oil pump,water pump,the list goes on)

please be gentle,i should have noted them to begin with. cheers in advance! colin.

The blue wire goes to the D+ terminal on the alternator and the double-wire (faded red) goes to the B+ terminal on the alternator. It is the same loom as the starter motor. BTW, if you have a double-red wire going to the alternator, make sure that you have put a 70A alternator on as a 55A one uses a plug, not nut and stud connections

Yep. Put the double wire on AFTER the single thick-gauge wire though. Gives better connection due to the terminals used.
