Default Fuel pump still pumping/priming after ign off

Took my S2 Rst for a bit of a drive today, tucked her back up and turned her off only to find the fuel pump stays primed!
i've disconnected the battery for now but as soon as i reconnect it the pump primes back up again- has my pump had it or does this point to something else???
